Makes Me Want to SHOUT!

I went to my first Charlotte SHOUT in 2022 and it was unique experience!!! An experience that makes you want to “SHOUT!” (LOL!!!) Well, whatever you feel you can’t understate the fun and eclectic festival’s impact on the Queen City and its local patrons and creatives alike. It was the first one since the pandemic and I didn’t know how I would feel about going back into a big event with wall to wall people just as things were beginning to open back up all over the country. And as he had my mask on I was able to do some sight seeing of the many activities and the fun everyone was having. Friends, lovers, families and lone spectators were there for the experience of Charlotte SHOUT.

The festival itself is so uniquely Charlotte! A combination of different foods from different cultures, as well diverse genres and styles of music, dance and of course art work. It’s a creative of all stripes dream and that’s what I got out of my experience of the festival. After talking with the executive producer of the festival Robert Krumbine, I gathered from the conversation that the diverse and the unique way the festival is put together is very intentional to heighten the diversity, the uniqueness and the creativity of the Queen City. And that to me is a winning formula of a music and arts festival that is needed and that can be example for festivals in the future, that also has a slice of history will going forward into the future.

I wasn’t able to attend this year’s event, but I’m aware that it was quite successful. If you haven’t attended a Charlotte SHOUT, I highly recommend you gear up for 2024, because I know I will.
